Do you have clients whose religious upbringing is impacting them negatively in adulthood?
Are they struggling to navigate relationships with parents or other family members due to religious or political differences?
Growing up in a family that is embedded in a high-control or authoritarian religious community can hinder child development in ways that continue to impact individuals well into adulthood. As therapists, it's important that we understand these developmental impacts to help clients reach their goals.
In this two-hour training you will learn:
How unhealthy religous family dynamics impact development in order to help clarify clinical focus.
The family norms often taught and encouraged in unhealthy religious families.
Help clients navigate current relationships with parents or other family members through gaining insight into religious authoritarian family systems.
Learn strategies to help clients increase their autonomy and self-trust.
This training is not accreddited for continuing education credits.
